MY PRESENTATION

I’m Gloria Salazar. I studed Relaciones Comerciales. I work for Hershey Company in the marketing department. In this Department we consider the marketing mix for to develop strategies for to be the best chocolate manufacture.

Hershey Foods Corporation and commonly called Hershey's is the largest chocolate manufacturer in North America. Its headquarters is in Hershey, Pensilvanya, a town permeated by the aroma of cocoa on some days. It was founded by Milton S. Hershey in 1894 as the Hershey Chocolate Company, a subsidiary of his Lancaster Caramel Company. Hershey's candies and other products are sold worldwide.

Hershey's is one of the oldest chocolate companies in the United States, and an American icon for its chocolate bar. The Hershey Company owns many other candy companies and is also affiliated with Hershey Entertainment and Resorts Company.

Product. Hershey have many lines of products for each type of consumer like chocolate candy (Hershey’s milk chocolate, extra dark, special dark, kiss ables, kisses, kit kat, etc.), gum & mint (bubble yum), snacks (Hershey’s cookies, kisses mini cookies, really nuts, etc.), pantry items (chocolate mix, Hershey’s toppings, etc.).

Price. All Hershey’s product has accesibles prices according the product, size, brand. These can be $20 at $50.

Promotion. Hershey have many promotion about all line of products like win a private concert with some singers, create your own reeses’s perfect, admission to favorite movies and for all occasions like mother´s day, brithday, thank you, wedding, etc.

Place. You can find Hershey's in supermarkets, Samborns, Wal-Mart, and different stores, etc.

Structure
Hershey has a bigger structure, CEO and departments like Human Resources, Sales, Marketing, Production, account each once with assistants.

As you can see from 1995 year and 2000 year the sales increase in 15%, from 2000 at 2005 increase 20%.

Future plans
Hershey’s want to search for big and new ideas for the news products have more products, to offer more promotions for increase sales, satisfy necessities of consumer, create a news campaigns for the products obtain profits for company., search for big and new ideas for the news products.

COMMENTS

On this week we did some exercises for the Unit 14 Logistics, I learned vocabulary, but the topic passives I don’t understand very well, I hope you have a link in your blog about this topic to practice for the exam. We did the test listening and reading. Listening was very easy.

COMMENTS

I learned the reported speech can be reported using the same words as the speaker used, and can be reported by summarising what the speaker said than using the same words. We saw the punctuation rules, the capitalize, the clause vs. phase, using commas, etc. I learned some vocabulary about the unit.

COMMENTS

On this week some of classmates discuss about “money is the only measure of success”. I think this activity can help us a lot in order to have an improvement on our speaking. We also saw other very important topic: modal verbs of obligation and vocabulary. Too a good way to influence people’s opinions is to find points.

Dear Milton S. Hershey:

I am very pleased if you can to read some reasons that I think are important for this case about to sell or not to sell the chocolate factory:

If the resident of the town oppose the sale of Hershey Food maybe will have:

· The town and the company are closely linked.
· Tourists visit the town because of the “magic” created by its image of “chocolate town”.
· The buyer may cut jobs and this will be an economic disaster for the town.
· Many people in the trust are not from the town. They don’t understand that the residents are protecting a “way of life”.

Hershey was a model employer who built a town for his employees with comfortable homes, inexpensive public transport and good school. I don’t think that’s a good ideas to sell, I think you must abandonment its plans to sell.

It’s important you understand the points that were mentioned because it is a dilemma to take the best decision taking in to account the advantages and disadvantages.

COMMENTS

I learned to use gerund and infinitives. We did some exercises and speaking some of these examples about we also practice speaking with some sentences using vocabulary of the unit and did exercises of book. Then we learned the modal verbs of obligation. It is very interesting. I hope learn more.
